Subject: 19631/Declare Etter & Farmer Day/11-6-92 Date: Fri, 18 Sep 1992 12:21:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 19631 A RESOLUTION DECLARING NOVEMBER 6, 1992 AS COACHES E. B. ETTER AND STANLEY J. FARMER DAY. WHEREAS, E. B. "Red" Etter and Stanley J. Farmer have earned important and fond places in the hearts and minds of students of Central High School and all Chattanoogans; and WHEREAS, their dedication and devotion to the education of Chattanooga children have been rewarded by the many successes of their students; and WHEREAS, they became a coaching team in 1947, one year after Coach Etter's first state football championship, and developed championship teams in 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1957, 1962 and 1965; and WHEREAS, Coach Etter's lifetime coaching record included 324 wins, 106 losses and 14 ties; and WHEREAS, they have distinguished themselves in the eyes of their students and peers and they have proven to be good citizens in every aspect of community life; and WHEREAS, it is most appropriate and proper that Coaches Etter and Farmer be duly recognized for their accomplishments and thanked for their contributions by a grateful community; 0C NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That November 6, 1992 is hereby declared "Coaches E. B. Etter and Stanley J. Farmer Day" in Chattanooga and that all citizens are urged to participate in this special day. ADOPTED: October 20, 1992 RLN:cjc
